Video: Obama, White House Welcome the LA Galaxy

Players from all team sports in the U.S. seem to get a real kick out of the customary trip to the White House following a championship season.  The L.A. Galaxy got the honors Tuesday from winning MLS Cup 2011.

Meeting with President Obama and touring the White House is part of the fun after the pressures of winning it all.  They may also go celebrate more at PartyCasino.

There appears to be a genuine reciprocation of appreciation among players/athletes and the President.

He is high on the list of Presidential spectator sports fans.

But, it's time for the President to show more appreciation towards professional Soccer in the U.S., and why not?

Obama and MLS need each other.  He needs to attend a live MLS game.

During the ceremony, Obama singled out Robbie Keane, Landon Donovan, David Beckham and two LA natives, Omar Gonzales and A.J. De La Garza.

Of course, there was the obligatory Beckham underwear joke.  Obama also said he thought Robbie Keane may be a distant cousin of his.

The whole affair only lasted a short while, but maybe it's what the Galaxy needed to get them back into a rhythm for this season.

They currently sit 7th out of 9 teams in the Western Conference.  They have time, but, they need to start to get it together if they want to come back and visit with the President next year.
