The Seattle Sounders, the three-time defending champion has its hands full with the MLS league leader, the San Jose Earthquakes, playing in San Jose.  Seattle must find a way to shake off a tough loss on Sunday to its rival, Portland, and try to continue its streak of undefeated Cup wins since its entry into MLS.

Prediction: Seattle 4-3 in a wild one.

The other three quarterfinal matches pit Division III teams of United Soccer Leagues (USL) Pro on the road against MLS teams.

Sporting KC looks like a lock against the Dayton Dutch Lions.  The bigtime moment for the Dutch Lions will overcome them, but, at least they get to play at LiveStrong Stadium, the newest American Masterpiece Theater.

Prediction: 4-0.

Chivas USA will have its hands full with the Charlotte Eagles, but should survive in a close one.

Prediction: Chivas 2-1 in a comeback.

Philadelphia gets a visit from down the road as the Harrisburg City Islanders vie to see who is the state champion of Pennsylvania this year.  It should be close and maybe even an upset.

Prediction: In overtime, Philly 1-0.

Conventional wisdom says four MLS teams will go at in the semifinals.  But, the great thing about this tournament is that anything can happen.  Also, PK's (Penalty Kicks) are in play as a way to decide the ends of games.
