New Video Goes Inside the Portland Timbers Army

Jimmy Conrad, the former U.S. Men's National Team defender and 13 year MLS veteran spent a day recently with the Timbers Army for his KickTv show on YouTube.

He decided to make his visit to go inside and take part with the Timbers Army for the biggest rivalry game of MLS, Portland versus Seattle at Jeld-Wen Field in Portland.

The four minute video is a lot of fun with unusual imagery of the Cascadia Cup.  It starts off with Timbers Army members teasing a Seattle fan with his young son saying, "We eat Children", followed by two claps-three quicker claps, then, another, "we eat children", and it keeps going with another two claps-three quicker claps.

Further along in the video, some Sounders fans try to enter a Timbers drinking hole, only to be rejected and directed to another bar further down the street.

The Timbers Army already has a reputation as one of the most completely and totally dedicated supporters groups of MLS teams.  This video enhances their reputation and explains more of their passion.

Conrad gets totally involved with all the rituals and the game doesn't disappoint.  The players stay after the game to salute their supporters and show off their piece of Oregon logging for the goal scored in the match.

If any sports fan ever wondered what it's like to see a Soccer match played in Portland or what it is like to be a part of the Timbers Army, this video gives a better idea of what to expect.
